The R&A Rules of Golf apply at all times supplemented by these local rules. Please consult notice boards or ask at the Pro Shop for temporary local rules. If in doubt, please seek guidance at the earliest opportunity before signing your scorecard.
1. OUT OF BOUNDS Rule 18.2 applies to: — Over any boundary fence or hedge on the perimeter of the course whether marked with white posts or not. – Beyond white posts to the rear and side of the 18th green, including clubhouse surround, former bowling green and greenkeepers compound.- The practice ground between holes 16,17 & 18, the car park and the practice putting green
2. PENALTY AREAS: Yellow stakes identify a yellow penalty area. Red stakes identify a red penalty area. Rule 17 applies.
3. IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS: The following are immovable obstructions: any artificially surfaced path or roadway which crosses the course; sprinkler heads; man-hole covers; stonework, sleepers or fencing surrounding any tee; stonework lining the ditch on the 12th (where the ball lies outside of a penalty area); temporary winter tees and surrounds; halfway house; ball washers, benches and other course furniture; telegraph poles, cables and fixings. Rule 16.1 applies.
4. FIXED SPRINKLER HEADS: In addition to being an immovable obstruction, relief may be taken from a fixed sprinkler head if a ball lies off the putting green and in the general area, where a fixed sprinkler head within 2 club lengths of the putting green and within 2 club lengths of the ball intervenes on the line of play between the ball and the hole. The ball may be lifted and dropped at the nearest point to where the ball lay without penalty. The ball may be cleaned when lifted. Rule 16.1b applies.
5. STAKED TREES: If a staked tree interferes with a player’s stance or area of intended swing, the ball MUST be lifted without penalty and dropped within one club length of the nearest point of complete relief. The ball may be cleaned when lifted. Rule 16.1 applies.
6. OVERHEAD CABLE, SUPPORTING POSTS & FIXINGS: If a ball strikes an overhead cable, supporting post or fixing, the ball may be played from where it comes to rest or the stroke may be disregarded and the player may play another ball from as near as possible to where the original ball was played without penalty. Rule 14.6 applies.
7. GROUND UNDER REPAIR Play is prohibited within a GUR defined area. Rule 16.1 applies – Relief without penalty must be taken.
8. TREE ROOTS: If a player’s ball lies in a closely mown area and there is interference from exposed tree roots the player may take free relief under Rule 16.1b (Excludes Player’s Stance)

FOOTPATHS Please be aware that several footpaths cross the course. Consideration should be given to all footpath users.
